In a fierce statement dated August nineteen, the world renowned magician and multimillionaire David Copperfield spoke out against allegations of sexual assault laid against him by a young woman who cannot be named.
The David Copperfield assault allegations were originally made by the former Miss Washington USA contestant two years ago after a three night stay on the star’s private Bahaman Island. On July 29, when the statues of limitation deadline for the claim was reached, the aspiring model filed a federal lawsuit against the famous entertainer.
The Copperfield lawsuit addresses the same claims made two years ago and is seeking unspecified damaged for emotional trauma, false misrepresentation and false imprisonment. As such Copperfield has labelled the case as‘extortion for money, plain and simple’.
The entertainer claims that the allegations are ‘preposterous’ and that he has witnesses who can vouch for the inability for the woman to tell the truth. He states that her pattern of lying ‘continues in this lawsuit’ and that the notion that he somehow trapped her on the island with him was ‘absurd’. He further states that ‘She came to the island because she wanted to – no one lied to her – and she could have left the island on her own at any time’.
The US Attorney’s office has yet to lay criminal charges over the allegations, as they were still deliberating over the claims when the lawsuit was filed. Copperfield has made it perfectly clear he is ready to fight the lawsuit through to the end.
